If cattle are suspected of having foot-and-mouth disease, it should be reported immediately to the nearest state veterinarian. Your private veterinarian can also provide you with information. It is in the national interest that this highly contagious disease is stopped! Quarantine such an animal immediately and avoid overcrowding to stop transmission of the disease.
