Successful route meetings in Gauteng

MPO Gauteng hosted successful route meetings on 18 and 19 March in Heidelberg, Magaliesburg and Bapsfontein. Guest speaker Mr Kenneth Botha of Barnlab gave advice on the costs of raising calves. Mr Bertus van Heerden, managing director of Agri Inspec, informed producers about the activities of the MPO’s forensic investigation company, while MPO economist Dr Koos Coetzee highlighted the international and local trends in the dairy industry. Mr Douw Steyn of GWK made a presentation on lucerne at the last meeting at Belnori Boutique Cheesery. MPO Gauteng chairman Mr Danie Schutte expressed his gratitude to all to all participants and sponsors who contributed to these memorable occasions.

MPO mourns loss of former head

Mr Etienne Terre’Blanche, former managing director of the MPO, passed away on Tuesday, 18 March 2015, following a severe stroke four months ago. Etienne will be remembered for his enthusiasm and warm, friendly personality. The MPO expresses its sincere condolences to his wife, Gillian, their children and grandchildren, family and friends.
