Another successful MPO North route meeting was held in Delareyville on Thursday, 17 July 2014. MPO chief executive Mr Bertus de Jongh gave an overview of the outlook for the dairy industry locally and internationally and Dr Koos Coetzee, MPO economist highlighted the latest local and international economic trends. Mr August Lingnau of De Heus shed light on water quality in his presentation and Messrs Rupert van der Merwe of Probio and John Marais of Elanco introduced products. Current market conditions in the province, in particular, producer price and feed cost levels were also addressed. Messrs Johan van Niekerk and Eben Barnard were elected branch chairman and vice-chairman, respectively. The MPO congratulates them on their appointment. MPO North chairman Mr Johan Strydom has expressed his gratitude to everybody who contributed to the success of the meeting.
