Strategies for difficult times

The programme of the MPO North Congress held on Thursday, 25 August with the theme “Strategies for difficult times” was packed with practical advice given by experts. The advice offered by the guest speaker, Jannie Putter, on how to build a healthy team on your farm, found an enthusiastic audience.  The MPO CEO, Dr Chris van Dijk emphasised that difficult times demanded difficult decisions. Dirk Coetzee of Advance Seed shared valuable information on how to choose correctly in order to ensure optimal feed. Kenneth Botha of Barnlab informed producers that new thinking was required to counter high feed costs.

The convener of the event, Johan Strydom, chairman: MPO North, praised the milk producers in the North for their perseverance and faithful support in these difficult times. He added that the MPO would like to express its gratitude towards the main sponsor, Monsanto, the platinum sponsors FNB and Pannar, the organisers, other sponsors and the exhibitors, all of whom had contributed to the success of the occasion.
