Milk production growth is slowing down. In August 2015, 265 million litres of milk was produced. This is 5,9% more than during August 2014. Year-on-year production growth has slowed down from 10,7% in May 2015 to 5,9% in August. Total production for 2015 is at 1 931 million litres, still 9,5% more than during the same period last year. Lower producer prices, less favourable production conditions and production quotas had an effect on production growth. Base effects, such as production compared to higher production months in 2014, also play a role.
