According to Steve Pretz, vice-president of large project sales at GEA in Germany, automation of the parlour will ensure a stable milking process; the way cows like it. “For a cow, the best thing we can provide is a consistent milking procedure,” he says. “Repetition and consistency are essential to creating the environment our cows crave.” According to him, producers from dairies equipped with robotic rotaries are pleased with the unmatched level of milking routine consistency that is otherwise unachievable in a milking parlour.
