MPO Northwest leads the way with Dairy Show

Farmers who attended MPO North West’s Dairy Show gained practical information and tips on how to manage their farming enterprises to be profitable and sustainable. The show was sponsored by Biomin, FNB and Dekalb and took place from 22 to 24 April at the Lichtenburg show ground. A large variety of products and agricultural machinery were presented at the show. The programme, which took place over two days, contained talks and presentations on economic trends, grazing and feed management, animal health, feed, precision farming and reproduction. Farmers, students and input suppliers visited exhibitions and attended the presentations during the course of the show. The show started with a  gala dinner on Wednesday, 22 April, during which milk and dairy farmers were celebrated. Farm workers benefited from courses aimed at developing skills in tractor maintenance and productivity, which was presented by seasoned instructors of the MPO’s Institute for Dairy Technology. MPO North chairman Johan Strydom said the level of participation by dairy farmers in the region is noteworthy. He thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the show.
