In spite of an estimated increase in milk intake in September 2016, the total milk production during the first nine months of this year has still been 2,2% less than in the same period last year. More favourable production conditions in pasture-producing areas have contributed greatly to drive the increase in production. Milk intake figures are supplied by Milk SA. Intake figures for August and September 2016 are still preliminary and will change as more complete information is provided.
