Milk for change joins World Milk Day celebrations

Milk for Change, the campaign that is a partnership of Tetra Pak South Africa and FEED SA, handed over nearly 60 000 ℓ of long-life milk to FEED SA in Alexandra on World Milk Day, 1 June 2016. Milk for Change aims to fight undernourishment among South Africa’s larger communities, particularly children who need a healthy meal to help them concentrate so that they can get a good education.

Milk for Change collects long-life milk donations by consumers from select Pick n Pay retailers across Gauteng, the Western Cape, and KwaZulu-Natal. Tetra Pak donated 10 000 ℓ of long-life milk alongside donations by Clover, Parmalat, Orange Grove and Woodlands to kick-start the process.

Gisele Gurgel, marketing director of Tetra Pak SA, said:  “Based on the success we achieved this year we aim to make this an annual event and to grow schools’ participation in subsequent years”. To read more, click HERE.
