IDF explores opportunities for non-cow milk

Over 130 experts from 16 countries gathered in Limassol, Cyprus from 23 to 25 March 2015 for the International Dairy Federation’s IDF 7th international symposium on sheep, goats and other non-cow’s milk to discuss the latest developments in goat, sheep and other non-cow milk sectors. Rina Belcher, chairperson of the MPO’s Gauteng mid-region attended the conference. Speakers presented state-of-the-art research on a wide range of topics including husbandry and milk production, technology, chemistry, physics, microbiology and nutrition. They also highlighted innovation in technology for dairy products processing or nutritional aspects of non-cow milk.

Dr Nico van Belzen, IDF director general said, “Non-cow’s milk production is growing constantly. We’re committed to support the further development of this sector in an effort to improve a diverse and sustainable dairy industry and deliver nutritional and healthy products to consumers all over the world.” To read more, click HERE.
