High-fat dairy reduces type 2 diabetes risk

Lund University in Sweden conducted a study to establish the effect of the consumption of high-fat dairy products on the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The findings of the research suggest that high intake of high-fat dairy products could reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. It was found that people who ate eight or more portions of high-fat dairy products per day were 23% less likely to develop type 2 diabetes than those who consumed one portion or less. No link was identified between the consumption of low-fat dairy products and the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, while the high intake of meat was found to increase the risk.
