Global dairy prices increased for the third consecutive time at the GlobalDairyTrade auction held on 18 April, bolstering hope that international dairy price recovery is back on track. The GDT Price Index increased by 3,1 %, with an average selling price of $3 139 per ton. Supply is tighter following heavy flooding in New Zealand. Satish Ranchhod, senior economist at Westpac Bank said: “The recent very poor weather has raised concerns about production in the near term, and this is likely to have given prices a lift.” To read more, click HERE.
