Fair Cape Dairies and Cape Talk partnership culminates in heart-warming grand finale

The grand finale of the Fair Cape Cares Foundation’s drive to donate R400 000 worth of dairy products was a moment that brought happy tears to many eyes.

The R400 000 worth of dairy products was donated to feeding schemes in the Cape Town area in conjunction with Pippa Hudson’s show on Cape Talk. Listeners called the show to answer three questions. If the caller answered the questions correctly, their prize was to nominate a feeding scheme to which The Fair Cape Cares Foundations would donate the day’s R10 000 hamper.

To ensure that the drive ended with a bang, a R50 000 grand prize was awarded to the feeding scheme that stood out as being extraordinary or particularly committed to their cause. That feeding scheme turned out to be Vigis House of Hope in Ocean View and the additional R50 000 worth of dairy products was delivered recently.

Joel Serman, trustee of the Fair Cape Cares Foundation says that, while all the beneficiaries more than deserved the donations they received, there was something about Vigis House of Hope that compelled the Foundation to give a little bit more. ‘From day one, Dimitri (Vigis) and his team’s video stayed in the back of our minds as something truly special and we are delighted to help them make even more of a difference to the community of Ocean View with this donation. It’s been amazing to be involved in such an uplifting, positive campaign at a time when there is so much anxiety and we wholeheartedly thank everyone involved.”
