The November 2014 issue of Key Market Signals, the MPO’s flagship monthly overview of dairy statistics was published this week. Milk production growth has increased from September 2014. Total production during the first 10 months was 1,7% higher than during the same period last year. The demand for dairy products increased during the past year. Total demand for UHT milk grew by 6,0% in the 12 months to end June 2014 compared with the 12 months to end June 2013. The demand for non-UHT milk decreased by 3,4%. Total liquid milk demand thus increased by more than 1,2%. Positive trends are also evident for pre-packed cheese, maas and butter.
