Clover stock performs well

The value of Clover shares increased by almost 18% this quarter. According to Investec Asset Management Clover’s return to producing custard and yogurt and a potential take over is boosting the allure of South Africa’s largest dairy processor. Clover is in talks that may affect the value of its shares, the company said on 16 July 2014, without giving details. Mr Richard Middleton, fund manager at Investec said “There have been international food-producing companies sniffing around emerging markets. There’s obviously a possibility that they would look at somebody like Clover. Especially somebody wanting to get into the rest of Africa.” Clover plans to open plants in Nigeria and Angola while distribution networks have already been established in Mozambique.
