Better outlook for Fonterra producers

Fonterra has increased its forecasted farm gate price for the 2015/16 season by NZ$0,75 to NZ$4,60 per kilogram of milk solids (by 45c to R2,76/litre). The forecasted total pay-out (including earnings on Fonterra shares) is between R2,99 and R3,06. Fonterra chairman John Wilson said current global prices are unsustainable and while there are signs that global supply growth is easing, a lift in demand that is needed for prices to continue to rise, is still to come.
