Advice for farmers at MPO Free State AGM and Congress

Speakers at the MPO Free State AGM and Congress held yesterday at the Leopards and Lace Conference Centre in Bloemfontein, focused on tips and advice to limit costs to enable dairy farmers to cope with the cost squeeze currently faced by them. Dr Piet van Zyl gave an interesting perspective on increasing profit through focusing on less general aspects while Dr Piet Swiegers and Kenneth Botha (Barnlab) shared advice on adjusting feed in view of lower producer prices. Mike Mouton ( De Laval) gave an overview of practical aspects relating to cow housing. Gideon lamprecht was re-elected as chairman of MPO Free State at the Annual General Meeting. The MPO congratulates him on his election. Izette Louw, MPO Free State regional coordinator, thanks all the speakers, sponsors and delegates who contributed to a successful event.
