MEETINGS WITH PRODUCERS IN EASTERN AND WESTERN CAPE

Dear MPO members and non-members.

The chairman of the MPO Board of directors, Colin Wellbeloved, and the acting executive head of the MPO, Fanie Ferreira, did a flash visit from 11 to 13 August to the Eastern Cape to engage with farmers in this dairy region on the progress with and implications of the restructuring process for the MPO. This was a valuable opportunity to gather input from dairy farmers, which are viewed as important building blocks to forge the future. Discussions took place with dairy farmers in the Tsitsikamma, Humansdorp–Oesterbaai Alexandria regions.

Fanie Ferreira accompanied by Philip Swart, manager member services and Bertus van Heerden, chief economist of the MPO, visited the Western Cape from 16 to 20 August and met with various dairy farmers to give feedback about the restructuring process and obtain inputs for the way forward. The latest economic information was shared with dairy farmers.

The MPO board is encouraged by the positive support experienced during the visits and expresses a heartfelt thanks to our dairy farmers for the trust in the process. Do not hesitate to contact your MPO regional manager or director if you have any enquiries or inputs.

Kind regards,

Fanie Ferreira
