The Milk Producers’ Organisation (MPO) was pleased to announce to MPO personnel on Monday, 19 July that fruitful discussions had taken place with a non-profit company (NPO), Agri Voice. The MPO will join the NPO as a full member. Ownership of Agri Connect (PTY) Ltd and The Dairy Mail (Pty) Ltd will be transferred to Agri Voice that will run these entities as running concerns from 1 August 2021. The directors of Agri Voice are Dr Willem Pretorius (Chairman), GP van Rheede van Oudtshoorn, and Thina Nodada.
Albert Loubser, manager of the TV channel, Agri TV, is very familiar with Agri Connect and the media and publishing business as such, and has stated on behalf of the directors of Agri Voice that the timing could not have been better. Both parties are grateful for the process, which will allow the MPO to focus on core business from now on, while retaining The Dairy Mail as the flagship publication of the dairy industry. The MPO will also have access to the online video platform of Agri TV that will further extend the media-footprint of the organisation.
Negotiations regarding the transaction and conditions are still a work in progress, but the team from Agri Connect and The Dairy Mail has met with Loubser and Pretorius, and everyone remains committed to delivering an undisrupted, full bouquet of media and publishing services to their clients, the MPO, the Red Meat Producers’ Organisation, the National Wool Growers’ Association, Cotton South Africa, and other agricultural entities.
