AGRI INSPEC ASSISTS WITH INVESTIGATIONS INTO CORRUPTION AND MONEY LAUNDERING

MPO FLASH 7/8 September 2020

At the beginning of 2020, Agri Inspec was requested by agencies of the state to contribute capacity expertise regarding specific investigations with an agricultural connection, where the involvement of corruption and money laundering was suspected. Agri Inspec’s experience regarding import documents and the processes involved in import transactions was specifically required. The work was done pro bono on the basis that it is in the national interest and that it forms part of Agri Inspec’s community service as a good de Jure citizen. The investigations have been completed and the matters will be placed on the court roll in the near future. Cross-pollination took place during the process and Agri Inspec used this exposure as an opportunity for growth. The MPO is proud to have been able to make this contribution in times like the present via an associate company.
