Ongeprosesseerde melkproduksie in Mei 2020 word geskat op 244 miljoen liters, 3,32% minder as in Mei 2019, en die kumulatiewe melkproduksie vir 2020 (insluitende Mei) is 1 288 miljoen liters wat op ʼn negatiewe groei van -0,20% vir die eerste vyf maande van 2020 dui (bron: Melk SA, laaste twee maande voorlopig). Februarie 2020 was ‘n skrikkelmaand en indien die maand aangepas word na 28 dae verhoog die negatiewe groei persentasie na -0,68%.
