Since the first #Worldmilkday which was celebrated in 2001, this event has developed into one of the highlights on the dairy calendars of more than 80 countries. This day is celebrated on 1 June with various activities focusing on the value of milk and milk products in a healthy lifestyle. In an interview on the #KykNET television programme #Grootplaas, Christine Leighton of Milk SA and Barbara Bieldt of the Milk Producers’ Organisation reported on the South African celebrations on World Milk Day.
