Limpopo Dairies does it again

SA Studbook recently held an awards function at Pure Joy Guest Lodge in Pretoria where the first winner of the Logix Elite Dairy Competition in the northern region was announced. Limpopo Dairies was crowned the winner. Mr Joubert Fourie from Limpopo Dairies was also honoured for his title as Master Dairyman 2013 and received a cash prize and trophy. All milk producers who do milk recording through Logix qualify to participate in the competition. The top herds in the country are evaluated according to Logix data, based on objective measurements and quantifiable achievements.

The competition is held in five regions: the northern region, KwaZulu-Natal, Free State, Eastern Cape and Western Cape. Four top herds were identified in the northern region – Messrs Japie Nel, Joubert Fourie, Job Legemaat and Jan-Willem Lotz. The judges will visit the top herds in the rest of the country after which the national winner of the competition will be announced.
