Clover acquisition of Dairybelle approved

On 15 October 2014, the Competition Commission has recommended that a large merger between Clover and Dairybelle be approved with conditions. Clover currently supplies secondary distribution services to Danone and has issued a notice to terminate its agreement with Danone. The conditions are aimed to address a possible effect on employment and ensure that Danone continue to have access to secondary distribution services for its yogurt currently supplied by Clover.
