Smart tag to indicate when milk is spoiled

Chinese scientists from the Beijing University in Beijing have developed a “smart tag”, which they say can indicate whether milk is spoilt by changing from red to green. When the product is fresh, the tag is red or reddish orange, but as the product ages it changes to orange, yellow and green when it is spoilt. The research findings are detailed in a report that states, “As a typical class of perishables, dairy products spoil easily owing to bacterial growth, and the growth rate of bacteria is strongly dependent on temperature. We therefore can envisage the design of a smart tracking tag based on the chemical reaction for dairy products. To read more, click HERE.
