Eat Butter

Reversing years of negative press on saturated fats, Time Magazine has published a cover story, Eat butter, on 6 June in which it is states that scientists were wrong about blaming saturated fat for obesity, diabetes, heart disease and other weight-related diseases according to a growing body of research. Carbohydrates, sugar and processed foods are now labelled as the main cause of the mentioned health issues.

Research suggests that consumers should reconsider the role that saturated fats play in their diets. Saturated fats are different from trans fats, which are found in processed foods such as baked goods and desserts and are known to increase the risk of heart disease because they raise the levels of bad cholesterol and lower the levels of good cholesterol.

Earlier this year, one of the world’s largest margarine producers admitted that they have been wrong about butter all along, and that it is indeed healthier than margarine. Butter consumption in the US is at an all-time high now, as consumers wised up before mainstream media told them it was fine to start eating it again. Major commodity food manufacturers have begun to put butter back into some of their processed foods, which confirms what has been validated by science – saturated fats are not the enemy.
