Fonterra bullish about prices

Fonterra is positive about future dairy prices. According to Fonterra chairperson Mr John Wilson, it is a question of when rather than if full-cream milk powder prices will increase. The higher international production in the previous season was caused by higher producer prices and favourable climatic conditions. Farmers in many countries suffered lower prices since the beginning of 2014. In New Zealand, the sharp decrease in the predicted pay-out will probably result in less concentrates fed and lower production. According to Mr Wilson, it is likely that total production for the 2014/15 season may be lower than during 2013/14.
