Do not miss SA Large Herds 2015

Do not miss the ninth South African Large Herds Conference at Boardwalk Conference Centre in Port Elizabeth from 1 to 3 June 2015. The planning committee is hard at work on next year’s conference, themed “Productivity through technology and innovation”. In this age, technology is not just a buzzword but a necessity if farmers want to be competitive, productive and commercially viable. The committee is sourcing speakers to address dairy farmers on enhancing on-farm productivity and highlight innovative new methods of running a dairy farm by using the best technology at their disposal.

Producers who attended the 2007 conference will be pleased to know that Mr Yani Garcia has agreed to present two papers at this conference, viz. The Innovative Utilisation of Forage, and also Robotic milking – practical implications and experiences. He is just one of several excellent speakers who have been invited.

To those who do not see themselves as large herd milk producers – don’t let the name Large Herds Conference mislead you. This event is aimed at progressive milk producers of all sizes who are serious about the business aspects of farming. The conference will provide delegates with the expertise needed to develop a strategic vision for their own farms, based on their circumstances and needs. Knowledge and technology will be transferred through virtual farm visits followed by interactive discussions.
