Clover CEO Mr Johann Vorster said value-added products such as yogurt, custard and dessert could make up around 20% of Clover industries’ business within a few years. The company has bought DairyBelle’s yogurt and UHT manufacturing, marketing and distribution businesses with effect 1 January this year. Mr Vorster said following the installation of greater manufacturing and distribution capacity, “the next phase is to fill those capacities and improve the infrastructure we’ve been developing. It’s about bringing those new ideas to the table which we’ve been working on – the first is a relaunch of our own yogurt range, which coincides with our DairyBelle acquisition.” Clover launched its own yogurt brands along with that of DairyBelle’s this month and has started making custard products under the Clover Classic brand. In addition, the company has entered into a joint venture with Futurelife and plans to launch its first on-the-go snack with added nutrients soon. According to Mr Vorster, Clover will continuously launch value-added products and the company is evaluating various niche product acquisitions and regional deals. To read further, click HERE.
