China and Ireland signed an agreement on food safety last week. The agreement builds on the agri-food partnership between the countries and sets out future cooperation in terms of the exchange of ideas and knowledge in areas of mutual interest. The agreement was signed at the co-hosted China-Ireland Food Safety Forum in Ireland. Irish Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Simon Coveney said, “Our agri-food exports to China have grown by more than 270% to €620 million (R143 billion) in just five years. This year alone, dairy exports from Ireland to China are up 25% on last year.” To read more, click HERE.
