Dolphins have the capacity to change their metabolism, which means they can readily switch in and out of diabetic states and metabolic syndrome, known as prediabetes in humans. This fascinated a group of scientists from the National Marine Mammal Foundation who embarked on a study to understand it. They have recently published their findings in Plos One. According to them, heptadecanoic acid, a saturated fat found in dairy products, may actually help stop prediabetes in its tracks. To read more, click HERE.
