MPO coordinates feed donation

The Milk Producers’ Organisation launched an action plan to supply roughage to producers in drought-stricken areas. The plan came into being after a liberal donation of roughage by Lex Gutchie, managing director of Woodlands.

“Many farmers are seriously affected by the drought. We are grateful that the South African dairy industry see their way clear to support each other with action plans such as this one,” said Dr Chris van Dijk, executive head of the MPO.

According to the MPO’s manager of member services, Philip Swart, the need is so extensive that further donations will be welcomed. The MPO appeals to farmers who have surplus roughage available to contact the MPO to coordinate the collection and distribution of feed. Contact Philip Swart at 012 843 5600 or send an e-mail to philip@mpo.co.za.
