Milk production growth in major exporting and importing countries slowed down in the first ten months of 2015. US production increased by 1,3%, compared to 2,4% in 2014. In the European Union production increased by 1,5% (2014 = 4,6%). Australian production increased by 3,8% (2014 = 3,7%) and New Zealand production decreased by 1,3%. In 2014 it increased by 8,4%. The slowdown in milk production growth in major exporting countries is mainly caused by the decrease in producer prices in these countries. Lower production growth is a major reason for firmer world dairy product prices.
