The findings of a survey conducted in the US by McKinsey & Company indicate that dairy companies wishing to capitalise on a growing global market, need to expand into emerging markets. US per capita consumption of dairy remained stagnant over the past four years while China and India experienced growth of 6.1% and 3.6% respectively. Although the market for traditional milk is shrinking, high growth is experienced in the dairy ingredients market.
